Moab in Review June 2017

Wrapping up our month in Moab; it’s been a great stay! In case you didn’t know… a month is a very long time for us in one spot… and when you factor heat advisories, no rain, a weird grippy sand/dirt, (and binging on Gilmore Girls)… it makes it even longer and leaves us longing for the lush green and rolling hills of Tennessee…

(I must say though, looking back, that time FLIES when we are with friends!! Seems like life went into slow motion for us when the Setzer’s’ had to move on!!)

Speaking of slow… We found a real life Bob Ross scene when we escaped the heat to the Manti LaSal National Forest; we splashed around in Kens Lake every chance we could; we covered waterfalls and discovered our own unmarked Arch…

We recommend the inexpensive audio tour through Arches National Park; hikes with friends are more fun; late night star watching at the lake; friends that share kayaks and canopies and sitting under the stars until wee hours of the morning make great memories…

It’s been a good month in Moab, Utah!! 🔆

We were exploring the housing in the neighborhood and I said “That looks like a good spot for petroglyphs…” and while I was speaking I SAW THEM right there! My first sight of ‘Moab Man’! Can you see it?

Perfect picnic afternoon; elevation 8850 ft

An Aspen grove; we are partial to Aspen!

I swear Bob Ross was HERE and put these happy little trees!!! Can you believe this is UTAH?!

Our attempt at a simple swamp cooler! Block of ice inside cooler with fan blowing on the ice… cool air came out; but eventually the cooler leaked ice water from the bottom! Lol

Arches National Park; Fiery Furnace aptly named!!

So much sun!!!

Wolfe Ranch; cabin was said to be home of man who settled the area that is now the Arches park.

My hair; his canvas…. 😉
